WE ARE WATCHING OUTCOMES OF SEDGWICK COUNTY JUVENILE PROCEEDINGS
It is VERY CONCERNING to hear that a parent who is involved in the Child in Need of Care Proceedings has been told by their attorney not to BLOG or contact the Media in regards to their case or they would not get their children back!!!
Posted by: NCCPR Location: Alexandria VA on Nov 14, 2009 at 06:21 PM The story says nearly 1,800 children have been torn from their families in Sedgwick County – but SRS will report a much lower figure to the federal government. That’s because, at best, Kansas is exploiting a loophole in federal regulations to hide huge numbers of removals. At worst Kansas is simply violating those regulations. I know of no other state that behaves this way. Details are in our report on Kansas child welfare, available on the State and Local Reports page of our website, www.nccpr.org Richard Wexler Executive Director National Coalition for Child Protection Reform www.nccpr.org
It's past time to stop the illegal seizure of children from families and hold individuals accountable for violating Federal & State laws.
Here's a couple links to read more about the audit:
